No specific incident of someone pretending to be me comes to mind, but that doesn't mean much (my girl friend is always criticizing my crappy memory). I know back in the AOL days it was almost common place for people to pretend to be other people. I remember getting emails from individuals claiming to be people like MaGuS (author of Fate X). And I know dos and knk had trouble with posers. I don't think I had anything like this though. This guy's profile says he's "Patrick Gillespie" and lists my location, which is a little freaky. I had a couple instances of people copying large portions of my site, which really irritated me at the time. Did someone copy all of patorjk.com at one point? I remember viewing the VB Examples and Code Bank (then the MAF Code section) on someone else's site, and I remember lots instances of people copying certain apps of mine, but I'm not sure I remember a specific incidence of someone copying the whole thing. Actually, now that I think a little more about it, I remember angrily talking about some site on my news page or web forum and then later seeing that someone hacked the site I was annoyed with. I looked through an archived version of my site at archive.org and didn't find anything on it though. However, only my news from 2001 and on is archived. I wish I would have kept better records of that time period. There were a lot of mini-dramas that went on and then were gone a few days later. It's interesting stuff to learn from though.
